I had dinner with my sister last night and told her about my 100 Thing Challenge. Her response?, “You’ve obviously got a lot of time on your hands.”
Yes, this is kind of true. I work full-time but because I get up at dawn and the work day (in Australia) is only 8 hours long including a lunch break so I often have afternoons free. And I’d rather do this as my hobby than watch TV or go to the gym like most people do after work.
She told me that she’d take anything I don’t want. She described herself as Wally (?) the robot cartoon character who compacts rubbish into bricks. She now has most of her stuff in storage at our parents place, and she says she is happy to collect more things for her future and pack it away until that time comes. She even did a little skit demonstrating her ‘whily style’ of packing boxes.
So for that, she is getting some second-hand goods in her Christmas Santa Stocking this year. The same kind of stuff we used to get when we were little; notepads, combs, nail polishes. I went through a bronze makeup phase last year, bronze suits my sister a lot more than me, so I’m passing on near new O.P.I nail polish (Brisbane), Clinique lipstick (Delovely) and a Shiseido lip pencil (Sepia on ice).
Seven things out the door – thanks Santa.
